Here at The Little Studio we create a small scale learning environment in the Charlotte community. Located just a stones throw from Plaza Midwood, we bring a neighborhood vibe to your local studio. We have something for everyone, whether you are new to clay or have gotten stuck in the mud before, we got you covered. Young or old there is something to experience for all ages from adult beginner, intermediate and advanced classes, to youth summer camps and adult date night events.

Meet Laryssa 🌷

Laryssa fell in love with ceramics in 2018 at Meredith College. When Laryssa first worked with clay, She finally found an art form where the lines are meant to be pushed, reshaped, and reimagined.

With a handbuilding foundation, In 2024, Laryssa began exploring the wheel. Today, she loves not only working on the wheel, but with sharing the joy of ceramics with others.

Meet Danielle ⭐️

Danielle is a practicing and exhibiting ceramic artist, educator, and writer and teaches accessible ceramic workshops in the Charlotte and beyond. Danielle received her Bachelors of Fine Arts degree at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Danielle creates functional ceramic art and has been showcased in Greenhill Center for NC Art, SOCO Gallery, Saltstone Ceramics, and Charlie Cummings Gallery. Danielle has been published in Ceramics Monthly, The Studio Potter, and Contemporary Black American Ceramic Artists!

Meet Kay 🍀

One of our studio managers and instructors, Kay has been instructing at the little studio for almost 2 years now.

Her work is heavily influenced by nature and all things whimsy. Kay is mostly self taught and took a couple ceramic classes while obtaining her bachelors at West Virginia University.

Kicking it off with Tam, one of our longest teaching instructors!
Born and raised in Northeastern Ohio, Tamara grew up on a small farm as an athlete with a wild imagination and a love of precision and storytelling. Tamara dabbled in creative writing and a variety of art media until discovering clay while pursuing her BFA at Ohio University. Her first love was the potter’s wheel which demanded both an active, precise physical engagement and complete presence of mind; the nearly limitless potential for creating flowing organic forms sparked her imagination.✨
