I'm happy to announce that I recently received a HUG microgrant from Charlotte Is Creative! Thank you , CIC , and also thank you to the sponsors: LPL Financial, LISC , Wray Ward, Hotsake, Bogues Group and Springclean. The funds will be used to create a new work called "The Parable of the Sower," for a sensory exhibit that is a collaboration between the artists of Nine Eighteen Nine Studio Gallery.

I encourage all artists to apply for the HUG by going to HUGGrant.com! It's free and it's easy! Go get that $250!

Back at it with The Tall Poppy. I've been away from her for a minute. I appreciate her patience.

Congrats to ! He had a book launch yesterday . His children's book is called "A Trip With Blip." Great insight about the process. He also gave a quick demo of a caricature drawing (which is where it all began). Still got it!

I've probably laid this out a couple of other ways since then. I added more flowers but made them smaller. Need to do the hands and purse and some little hat details. This white won't be the background. Oh and there will be grass too.

Fleshing out Ladybug Johnson. Her dress isn't as dowdy as the one I originally crafted.
