Have you ever wondered how to tell our giraffes apart?

We currently have 3 adult giraffes in the yard: Melman, Mary, and Jane! 💛 Here are a few tips to help you tell them apart:

🦒 Melman is our only adult male and the tallest of the group! He has very large, distinctive ossicones (the horn-like structures on top of his head) and the darkest coloring of our three giraffes.

🦒 Mary is our shortest giraffe! She has much darker spots than our other female, especially on her face, with smaller spaces between her spots.

🦒 Jane is our lightest-colored giraffe! Her spots are a lighter brown, with much more space between them. She also has the most white on her face.

Now that you know their differences, do you think you can spot Mary, Melman, and Jane next time you visit? 👀🦒💕

Here are three fun facts about Sugar! 👇🐻

🥩 She has a big appetite! Sugar eats 10–20 pounds of meat every day, in addition to her produce bucket. Bears are omnivores, meaning their diets can include both plant and animal foods!

🥬 Romaine is her favorite! Out of all the produce she gets, Sugar absolutely LOVES a fresh head of romaine lettuce!

💦 She’s a water bear! Sugar loves spending time in her pool, especially when she can drag her toys into the water.

A new home and more room to explore! Our blue iguana has moved into a larger, upgraded enclosure, and he’s loving every inch of it! 🦎💚 Iguanas are naturally curious and active reptiles, so having plenty of space to explore helps encourage their natural behaviors. 🌿

Baby anteater yawns are the cutest thing— we couldn’t choose just one picture to post! 😴🥹 This little one is growing so fast! Baby has just started spending some time off mom and loves exploring the indoor area, although still riding around on mom whenever she ventures outside! 🩵
