What a way to kick off our 39th year of fundraising!

We’re thrilled to share that our 13th Annual Wells Fargo Kickoff featuring Viña Don Melchor raised over $135,000 in support of our four incredible children’s charity beneficiaries: Beds for Kids, Digi-Bridge, Families Forward Charlotte and Wayfinders.

100 guests enjoyed a cocktail reception followed by a three-course w**e-pairing dinner created by Chef BruceSchlernitzauer and Leslie Schlernitzauer of Porcupine Provisions. We were honored to welcome Sebastián Lopez, Vice President of Trade Development USA for Viña Co**ha y Toro, as our special guest of the evening.

The night concluded with an exciting live auction led by Dan Lyles, featuring an exceptional selection of fine w**es and exclusive experiences. Thanks to the generosity of our donors and guests, the auction and paddle raise alone generated over $100,000 for our beneficiaries.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this evening a success and advance our mission of expanding upward mobility opportunity for children and families across our community. Stay tuned as we share more highlights from the evening!

A bed for a child. A STEAM kit in a student’s hands. A child finding a holiday gift under the tree. A new scholar welcomed into a community. A mentor showing up and saying, “I believe in you.”

This is what community support looks like in action.

This winter, WAYFINDERS plans to welcome 35 new scholars and connect them with 35 new mentors. Beds for Kids is preparing to serve more families during the holiday season. digibridgeUS continues creating hands-on opportunities for students to learn, explore and build skills for the future. And Families Forward Charlotte is helping provide holiday gifts and winter essentials to children and families in need, easing financial stress during the holiday season.

Through Charlotte W**e + Food, your support helps fuel the work of all four of our local beneficiaries serving children and families across Charlotte.

This fall, we’re working toward an additional $20,000 through DAFday CLT, bringing our total distributed to $500,000 by the end of the year.

One DAF grant. Four local nonprofits.

When you direct a DAF grant to Charlotte W**e + Food, your gift is distributed among four local nonprofits.

Beds for Kids • digibridgeUS • Families Forward Charlotte • WAYFINDERS

Together, their work reaches more than 2,500 children and their families across Charlotte—from providing essential furniture to families in need to opening doors to education, mentorship and opportunities to build skills for the future.

You’ve set it aside. Now put it to work for Charlotte.

DAFday CLT is coming October 8. If you have a donor-advised fund (DAF), you’ve already set aside charitable dollars to support the causes you care about.  Across America, approximately $326 billion has been set aside in donor-advised funds—charitable dollars already earmarked for philanthropy. This October, you can direct those dollars to Charlotte W**e + Food and help put them to work for children and families across Charlotte.  In June, we distributed $480,000 to our beneficiaries. This October, our goal is to raise an additional $20,000 through DAFday CLT, bringing the total distributed to $500,000 by the end of the year.

Together, our beneficiaries reach more than 2,500 children and their families each year, providing essential resources, educational opportunities, family support, and mentorship across our community.

Charlotte W**e + Food hosted an exclusive Vintner Dinner graciously hosted by Mark & Norma Ricci at The Schlernitzauer Residence, featuring a thoughtfully curated multi-course menu by Chef BruceSchlernitzauer & Leslie Schlernitzauer of Porcupine Provisions, with each course expertly paired to complement the evening’s w**es.

Special guests Charlie Liu and Julia Fuller of SÉDUIRE W**E, captivated guests with the stories behind each vintage, creating an unforgettable w**e experience.

The evening concluded with a surprise pop-up live auction, raising $5,000 for our beneficiaries.

It was a wonderful evening shared with longtime friends, all coming together over exceptional food and w**e to make a meaningful impact in our community. Cheers to everyone who joined us in raising a glass and giving back.

An extraordinary evening of world-class w**e, exceptional cuisine, and giving back. 🍷✨

Following Charlotte W**e + Food Week, we hosted an exclusive Vintner Dinner at L’Ostrica, sponsored by Chris & Kathy Cope and Flint & Julie McNaughton, featuring renowned w**emaker Chris Carpenter of The Spire Collection alongside Todd Brentnall, Regional Manager of The Spire Collection.

Through stories from his own w**emaking journey, Chris provided insight into the unique character of each vineyard.

Paired with a thoughtfully curated six-course menu by Eric Ferguson and Cat Carter of L’Ostrica, guests enjoyed an unforgettable evening that concluded with a live auction raising $3,950 of our beneficiaries!

Proceeds benefited Beds for Kids, digibridgeUS, Families Forward Charlotte, and WAYFINDERS.
