Clearing out the clutter? Make sure it ends up at the right place! The City of Concord, Cabarrus County Government, and Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont are helping residents safely dispose of unwanted items at the annual Fall Safe Disposal Event on Saturday, October 24.

To better accommodate the growth of this event, it will now take place at West Cabarrus High School, located at 4100 Weddington Rd. in Concord.

Residents can dispose of:
📑 Paper: limited to 5 trash bags or bankers boxes per person.
📺 Electronic waste: televisions, computers, and other devices.
💊 Unused or expired medications: the City of Concord Police Department will be on site to safely dispose of unused and expired medications. Needles will not be accepted during this event.
🔋 Lithium-ion batteries: no limits, however, batteries should be placed in a clear sealed bag, such as a Ziplock bag.

Sometimes the next step in your career starts with having someone in your corner.

When Seth joined Goodwill, he had recently earned his master's degree in management and knew he wanted to build a career in finance and business. While working at The GRID: Powered by Goodwill, he made his goals clear and took every opportunity to grow.

After starting as a cashier, Seth advanced to lead computer technician and later assistant manager. When he was promoted, he enrolled in Goodwill's Pathways coaching program, where he worked one-on-one with a coach to develop his leadership skills, prepare for interviews and pursue the career he had been working toward.

With support from Pathways, Seth stayed focused on his goals and, within months, landed a position as a relationship banker with Bank of America.

Seth says the support he received through Pathways helped him take the next step and reminded him that Goodwill was invested in his success, whether his future was within the organization or beyond it.

We're proud to celebrate Seth and all he has accomplished through hard work, determination and the support of Pathways.
