As we honor him today - and every day - we must continue to push for voting rights, because our democracy is in danger. They are continuing to pass state legislation to oppress black and brown votes. Between January 1 and December 7 of 2021, at least 19 states passed 34 laws restricting access to voting. More than 440 bills with provisions that restrict voting access have been introduced in 49 states in the 2021 legislative sessions. Pay attention people, midterms are coming up and before you know it, the 2024 election as well. .
