Rat Tattoo I'm horror, video game & pop culture nerd. I love to tattoo almost anything! Fresh out of high school I can remember drawing a small fairy for a friend.

Like a lot of artists of my generation, I grew up surrounded with comic books, video games and cartoons. Throughout grade school I would draw all over my friends with anything I could get hold of, replicating the characters we loved. A few year later I ran into her and she got it done as a tattoo. The feeling of seeing my work on someone’s skin was amazing. It was humbling and an honor. Young and

stupid, I lacked ambition to hit the streets looking for an apprenticeship. Instead I moved from one job to another, totally unfulfilled. Spring 2009, I decided to move from New York to Charleston, South Carolina to pursue the arts in any way possible. I went back to school for graphic design. While in college I fell in love with hand lettering. I graduated with a portfolio focused on typography and illustration. In 2015, I moved to Greenville, South Carolina, where I worked for a design agency. The company tapped into my artistic skills, sometimes, but not enough to scratch the creative itch. I started making wood burnings and prints to sell at regional comic conventions. All that time my designs reflected my love for the graphic nature and styling of tattoos. It was obvious that my heart was still in the art of tattooing. It was time to find a mentor, I found one then followed him to Salt Lake City in May of 2017. So now I do something I have always wanted to do, work with people and make a difference in their life. Tattooing, to me, is an artistic and exciting way to do that. To connect and create together is such an awesome experience. If it’s something nerdy and nostalgic even better, but I am stoked to work with people either way!

To say that I’ve grown over the past three years while working at would be an understatement. And to say I had an amazing time with all of the talented people who came through Vault, Mimik, and Ghost still wouldn’t fully capture how much this chapter has meant to me. Truth is the past few years have drastically shaped me, my art and my career. I am beyond grateful for this time, and everyone that hyped me up and supported me; clients, coworkers, friends, family, all of you! Was it what I expected? Not really. But before I made the move, my mentor told me something that stuck: “The key is to be adaptable and open to change.” And there has definitely been change. When I left Salt Lake, my whole world shifted. I didn’t know exactly what was ahead, but I was excited for the possibilities.

Which brings me to the next shift. In some ways it feels like a return to form for me, but mostly something new. I’m stepping into this next chapter with the same excitement, but a lot more confidence in where I’m headed and what I want to cultivate for myself… and more importantly, my clients. On May 15th, I’ll be moving into a smaller, more intimate space at .tattoo . There I’ll be working alongside fewer artists. If you know me, you know I love connecting with my clients, so this feels like the environment to do that.

I believe and have created a space that feels perfect for this next part of my journey. I appreciate them for opening up their doors and I’m excited to share this next part of the ride with all of you.

If you have appointments with me they are still on, just after May 15th they’ll be a little bit down the road… I’ll be sending out messages with the new address to anyone who is booked, and my site and everything will be updated accordingly. Cheers, love y’all!
