Glass Flowers

Let us raise a toast
To shatter all expectations
Reaching through the pane
Made of unsavory relations

I’ve begun to bloom
Without help or indoctrination
Plucking out the weeds
To cut out all my agitation

To be blown into shape
And ignited by immense passion
Learning how to break away
So there aren’t pieces of me to ration

Synthesize mind and body
With brightness that I can fashion
Letting in the rain
To cleanse the parts that are ashen

I am deliberately cultivated
Like a vase full of glass flowers
Reflecting the beauty of love
From the break of Dawn to midnight hours

Every Step of the Way

365 ways to reimagine a moment in space
Capturing a new day with a glimmer on my face
Reaching towards an uncertain positivity bound up in grace
I am enthusiastic about finding a happiness one cannot erase

Striding up towards my mountain top blissfully unaware
Blinded by pride and virtue, my life has seemingly been fair
Yet a sore has been festering quietly aching with every stair
A vicious desire that will become the pinnacle of my despair

I hoist myself up from the ledge expecting to see the very thing I seek
Only to stand up and fall to my knees as I see the distance to my peak
Overcome by the pressure of an unattainable breath,
I can’t speak
My unending sorrows make my foundations futile and weak

I rest in this moment of despair looking for a reason to give in
Only to find it at the bottom of the guilt rooted within my sin
Why would I continue on only to reach this place again
I find no joy in a journey destined to continue to begin

I pause as I think about stepping past this unrelenting notion
How can I lead you into my present joyous commotion
The sweeping of the sands beneath me like in a clear blue ocean
I pick myself up with the help of my unwavering devotion

Why would I quit now when there’s so much Ahead to know
One step at a time, I can start off at a pace that slow
Soon I’ll be further beyond the pains of long ago
Never giving up on expanding opportunities to continue to grow

It’s been quite a while since I’ve used this page. I’ve been experiencing some writers block in my current chapter of growth. In many aspects an overgrowth has come to reveal itself which needed to be tamed. In other aspects, the growth has been moderated and seemingly perfect. I wish I could share with you all the many ways that my life has changed for the better but my writing has forever been therapeutic.
Stay tuned to see how I have come to appreciate the abundance of growth in my life by being mindful ~Every Step of the Way~ 🫶🏽🤗
