Can you teach coding without a computer? Absolutely. 🤖

We were inspired by Tay Learns to Code by Felicia Lang to create this hands-on coding game using recycled materials and construction paper arrows!

My girls built their own robots, planned a coding path, made mistakes, debugged their “program,” and celebrated when they finally solved the challenge. 💙

The best part? They were learning sequencing, problem-solving, and computational thinking through play.

This activity was such a hit that I’m turning it into a full YouTube tutorial with even more coding challenges for different age groups. Stay tuned!

This morning turned into one of those memories we’ll never forget. ❤️

Every morning on the way to theater camp, Kimberly and I listen to Absolute Mindy on SiriusXM Kids Place Live. Today they said, “Call now to play a game!”

We laughed and figured there was NO way we’d get through… but we called anyway.

The phone rang.

Someone answered.

And before we knew it, Kimberly was talking to Absolute Mindy herself! 🤯🎙️

The best part? I grew up watching my mom call radio stations, win contests, and make those moments so exciting. Today, I got to experience that same excitement with my own daughter.

Seeing Kimberly’s face light up, then rewinding the radio so she could hear herself afterward… that’s a core memory right there. 🥹

Sometimes the best moments happen when you take a chance, even if you think it won’t work.

Thanks for making our morning so special! 💛

Career Day was a success today! 🎉

I spent time telling students about being a children’s book author, performer, content creator, and former theatre teacher.

They politely listened.

Then I mentioned that I provide crafts, games, and activities for birthday parties…

And suddenly I became the most popular person in the room. 😂

By the end, they were asking me to come to their birthday parties and trying to figure out how to get me to their houses.

Lesson learned: kids are impressed by a lot of things, but birthday parties will always win. 🎈🤣

One of my FAVORITE birthday party games 🎉

“How Well Do You Know the Birthday Girl?” is basically a giant this-or-that game where kids race to the side they think the birthday child would choose!

The reactions were EVERYTHING 😂💕

Easy setup. High energy. Tons of laughs.

Teacher Appreciation Week looked a little different this year 💕

Instead of putting the gift bags together myself, I let the kids take over.

They used the teachers’ favorite things lists to sort all the snacks, drinks, candy, and goodies into piles for each teacher… and honestly, it turned into such a sweet learning moment 🥹

They practiced reading,
worked together,
organized everything,
learned how to package the gifts,
and wrote heartfelt cards completely on their own.

I didn’t correct the cards either 😂
I wanted the messages to feel genuinely from them.

And somehow that ended up meaning more than the gifts themselves 💕

(Also yes… we made 4 teacher gifts for under $40 👏🏾)

POV: the water relay turned into the championship finals 💦😂

One thing about kids? Give them a bucket, some water, a little competition, and suddenly they’re fighting for glory 😭

This is why I LOVE simple party games. The laughter, teamwork, running, cheering, and chaos always end up becoming the best memories.

And while the kids are fully entertained… the parents actually get to breathe for a second 👏🏾
