What's on my needles?
I'm almost finished with the knitting for my Vacation pullover. Both sleeves turned out beautiful and match quite nicely, the back is finished and I'm close to finishing the front. I'll weave in ends and block before seaming the pieces together, then I'll just have the neckband left to pick up and knit. Now I just need the weather to get on board with long sleeves and I'm set!
📓 - Vacation by Rosemary Drysdale
🧶 - Akari and Akari Solo
I finally made a pattern decision about my August sock and cast on last night. I have 10 days to finish it! I couldn't seem to face another sock of mitered squares (all those ends to weave in!), so I picked a different pattern. Fingers crossed I can keep my streak going for 2026 by finishing this before the end of the month!
📓 - My Chevy Socks
🧶 - Vesper Stripes by Knitterly Things; color is Wayfarer.
I chatted a bit about my Flock Vest but didn't show it off. I haven't worked on it since last week, so no progress to show!
📓 - Flock Vest by Andrea Mowry
🧶- Ideal from Manos del Uruguay; colors are Tahiti (MC), Natural and Zinnia.
I'm still stitching away on the Raccoon Sampler from Penguin & Fish and I'm really enjoying the different stitches I'm learning. I try to add in a new feature or stitch every week, so it's slow going. But I'm in no rush!

Items mentioned in Feature Friday
Our September COTM from Gnome River Yarns is available for preorder! And I shared the original batch of yarn that did NOT turn out the way I envisioned it, which is why I decided it was ugly. Objectively, it is not as ugly as I feel it is. It's just my disappointment manifested!

Designing Lace for the Curious Knitter - TOMORROW
Ready to take your lace knitting beyond following a pattern and into the world of design? In this small-group workshop, you'll explore the art and architecture of lace shawls while creating a shawl that reflects your own style and vision.
Using "Lizzie and Darcy Bath Crescent" by Julie Knits in Paris as our guide, we'll examine a variety of shawl shapes and construction methods, learning how different design choices affect the finished piece. We'll take an in-depth look at shaping techniques and chart reading, focusing on how to visualize lace patterns and understand the relationship between stitches, charts, and fabric.
This versatile pattern offers multiple pathways for success. Knit one of the included shawl variations, or use the design template to create a truly personalized shawl. We'll discuss how to modify motifs, plan transitions, and make design decisions with confidence. Both charted and written instructions are included, and we'll explore how to create and work from either format.
With enrollment limited to just six students, this class provides plenty of opportunities for discussion, questions, and individualized guidance as you bring your lace shawl vision to life.
