We want to thank every single person who has supported us over the past 50 years. Truly, we wouldn’t be here without you. This past week was filled with laughter, smiles, tears, and even a few mistakes—but most of all, it was filled with the energy and commitment that has carried us through the past eight months of preparation.
When we first began planning, the question was: How can we make 50 years special? How could we honor Wilma and the incredible legacy she created? And how could we possibly go out on the highest note?
This year, Lori poured her heart into every detail. Many sleepless nights were spent dreaming, planning, and perfecting the vision you saw come to life on stage. From music selection to costumes to choreography, Lori led the way—bringing the “Dancing Deputies” back to their roots of simply putting on a great show. We are endlessly grateful for her dedication.
The piano tribute was created to honor Lucille Tuckey, Wilma’s sister, who once played while the “Deputies” performed. Some songs were chosen to bring back crowd favorites from years past, while roles were carefully designed to highlight each dancer’s unique talents. And to make this 50th year even more special, we invited our “step-sisters” from the very first season to join us in the celebration.
These past few weeks have been emotional and unforgettable. Words can’t fully capture our gratitude—for your cheers, your support, and your love over five decades.
And yes, some may be wondering: Why is this the final year? The truth is, it wasn’t an easy decision, and it’s one that deserves a little more time and explanation. For now, please just know how deeply thankful we are—for everything.
