Statement on the arrest of Isaac Alexander:
Authorities have confirmed that Isaac Alexander, a widely recognized Halloween DIY creator, has been taken into custody following a months-long investigation involving the alleged theft of 280 foam pumpkins from Hobby Lobby stores.
According to officials, Mr. Alexander is believed to have carried out a series of low-profile visits over the past year, gradually removing seasonal décor items without raising immediate suspicion. Investigators say the pumpkins were reportedly intended for use in an “over-the-top Halloween display” described as “ambitious… and mildly concerning.”
Store employees first noticed irregularities in inventory late last fall, particularly within the seasonal aisle. A deeper review of surveillance footage allegedly revealed a pattern tied to repeated visits by the same individual, who would steal one pumpkin at a time by stuffing it underneath his shirt to make it look like he had a beer belly.
Law enforcement sources described the case as “unusual in both scale and dedication,” noting that the suspect showed “a clear vision… just highly questionable execution.”
When questioned, Mr. Alexander allegedly responded:
“If they didn’t want me to take them, why were they all so perfectly round?”
The estimated value of the missing items is believed to be in the thousands. Authorities have stated that formal charges are pending as the investigation continues.
