If you’re looking for a choral family, we have auditions slated for this week on Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday. If you’re interested, send an email to [email protected] so we can get you scheduled.

We now have over 100 prospective singers for the this new season. We’d love to add your name to that list.

Queen City Performing Arts has two main ensembles:

- Gay Men’s Chorus of Charlotte. If you sing tenor, baritone, or bass, we’d love to have you. About half the group is actually gay men, the other half is straight men, women, and trans folks. Their next performance is entitled “Joy!” and it’ll be the first weekend in December.

- The Women’s Chorus of Charlotte. If you sing soprano or alto, this is a wonderful experience. Next show is titled “Into Fire” and will be the first weekend in November.

We have two ensembles we’re producing shows for this fall:

- Uptown Sound is our all a ca****la SATB ensemble. Their first performance is “Pick Your Poison” and happens Oct 24 & 25.

- QCSingers, our SATB chamber ensemble under the direction of Donna Hill, premiers on Nov 15.

So, it’s Charlotte Pride. And it’s mid-August. Queen City Performing Arts is here and ready for visits from 250,000 of our closest friends. We even got a solar-powered overhead fan for the booth (we’re a leader in the Green Chorus Movement). You can’t tell, but it’s spinning it’s little heart out to keep our volunteers and visitors cool(-ish)! Come visit! We’re on Brevard St next to the UNCC DuBois Center.

A New Name. A Familiar Sound. A Fresh Beginning.

Meet Uptown Sound!

For this concert season, Uptown Sound has found a home with Queen City Performing Arts, alongside the Gay Men's Chorus of Charlotte and the Women's Chorus of Charlotte.

The name is new, but the heart of the ensemble remains the same. It's the same familiar faces, the same love of a ca****la music, and an exciting new chapter just beginning.

We're just getting started.
