Homies, I need your help. We have a chance to completely change a life and show someone the kind of love they have never experienced.
We need to help an incredible college student get a reliable car so she can get to school, work, and build the future she deserves.
Most of you know how much family means to us. A few years ago, an exceptional young woman named Christel came into our lives, and we just absolutely adore her. Because of privacy, I can’t share her whole story here but Christel has had every reason to give up and let life pull her under.
Here’s the thing, though: She absolutely refuses to let that happen.
Christel was placed into the foster care system as a baby. Her entire childhood was spent bouncing between group homes and foster placements until she aged out. Her young life was filled with far more hardship and abuse than love. She has endured things no child should ever have to experience and she had to face them all without the unconditional family support so many of us took for granted or pour into our own kids.
When we met her, she was understandably a little rough around the edges. But my goodness, does this girl have a brilliant future if she just gets the right support.
Let me tell you about her drive:
She graduated high school a semester early.
She was accepted into a four-year college in upstate SC where she is studying nursing.
She entered her freshman year last year and worked so hard that she has already earned enough credits to start her JUNIOR year this fall.
This isn't a kid who is partying or wasting an opportunity. This is a young woman completely locked in, doing everything in her power to ensure the next chapters of her life are filled with healing and prosperity.
But doing it entirely on your own is so hard. When campus closed for the summer, she didn't even have a place to go. She had to fight just to secure housing for herself, and had to beg for rides just to get back down to Charleston.
I would love for our community to come together and buy a car for Christel. Having a vehicle means security, independence, and opportunity. It opens up off-campus clinicals/work opportunities and gives her the ability to get back to Charleston to work and visit support systems over the summer.
Our goal is to get her something small, fuel-efficient, and reliable enough to safely handle that 3-hour drive between school and Charleston.
Every single dollar helps. You aren't just donating to a fund; you are actively altering the trajectory of a resilient, deserving young woman's life.
If you want to know more about Christel, or if you can help out in another way (mechanic inspection, leads on a reliable vehicle, etc.), please hit me up. Otherwise, donating to this GoFundMe would mean the absolute world to us and to her.
Let’s show her what a real village looks like. ❤️
