Charleston WV parkrun is a free, timed 5K run/walk held Saturday mornings along the Kanawha River, starting and finishing at Magic Island Park. The 5K course is nearly flat, with a slight incline as the path crosses the Elk River. As such, we ask all runners and walkers to volunteer before, during and/or after parkruns. Happy 14th anniversary to parkrun USA! What a journey! It all started with just one event at Livonia parkrun in 2012, brought to life by 28 finishers and seven volunteers. Fast forward to today, and that single spark has grown into an incredible nationwide community of 99 events and thousands of participants!

Oh how far we've come! The data is still rolling in for today, but last weekend saw over 6,000 participants across the country, including nearly 1,000 amazing volunteers! Whether you’ve been with us since day one or joined for the very first time today, thank you for being a part of our family. You are the heart and soul of parkrun USA. 🇺🇸 🎉 👟 🌳
