Designed by the renowned architect Walter F. Martens—who also crafted the West Virginia Governor's Mansion—this historic home is a proud part of the East End Historic District. Constructed for Mrs. Myrtle Wood Hall, the widow of Judge Cyrus Hall, The Ruffner showcases locally hewn stone expertly cut on-site, reflecting the craftsmanship of its era. The property, originally acquired from the Ruffne

r family, who once owned much of the surrounding farmland, is steeped in history. Throughout her residence, Mrs. Hall was actively engaged in various prominent organizations, frequently hosting dignitaries and events that nurtured community ties. With its legacy of hospitality, The Ruffner is an ideal setting for both intimate gatherings and larger celebrations. Most recently, the home was owned by the Frame Family of Charleston who dedicated themselves to preserving the home’s beauty and integrity, ensuring its rich history continues to flourish. As one of Martens' most significant residential designs, The Ruffner beautifully balances historic charm with modern comforts. We are officially sold out for Sunday afternoon but still have room for 1 party at 11AM and a few openings on Saturday 🌷🥂. Come brunch with us!

This year, skip the wilted grocery store flowers and the “we’ll cook for you” promise that somehow turns into Mom doing the dishes.

Join us May 9 & 10 starting at 11:00 AM for a brunch prepared by Sam's Uptown Cafe that actually delivers. We'll have delicious food, a full bar (highly recommended), and zero cleanup required.

We’ll have yard games to keep the kids entertained (and the adults mildly competitive), plus an optional Build-Your-Own Flower Bar so Mom can finally get the bouquet she actually wants.

So go ahead and be the favorite child this year. Book the reservation, bring the family, and let us handle the rest.

Thank you, Charleston Urban Works, for recognizing The Ruffner earlier this week at the Urbanite awards as a Rookie of the Year!

It was a truly incredible evening where we shared the stage with so many passionate small business owners and staff who love this city.

Nikki also got to represent Better Homes & Gardens Real Estate Central and present an Artist of the Year award to our very good friend, Chris Gosses!
