It’s finally here. This past January, Winyah came into the studio for the entire month and we made a full length record over 4 weeks. Although this is technically their second album, it feels like the beginning of Winyah. This record is cohesive and mature. Catchy yet unexpected. We gave care to the vision of the record as a whole, not only with the sonics, but what it means. It was such a dream come true to be able to focus and work on one album for entire month straight. That’s a gift that’s not very common these days. It granted us the luxury to try things out, experiment, see if we liked something - and if we didn’t, we had time to do it again and do it right. I hope you guys enjoy this album. It was an amazing experiment making it with these guys. RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW out now!!!

We pushed some boundaries on The Psycodelics new album to make it more than just a series of songs. We wanted it to feel like an ALBUM. Remember when artists used to make complete records with intention? and not just a bunch of random singles packaged together as an “album”. Nothing wrong with the ladder, but we wanted this to be something that plays with purpose top to bottom. Track order, transitions, messages.

Also, this solo on “Charge It To the Game” is so cool. It sounds like a synth, but it’s actually Cam playing the guitar. This is one of the most wild & interesting tones I’ve recorded. So fun digging in with Cameron Wescott to find ways to push instruments beyond their traditional sounds. This clip is Cam vibing around finding the part. You can hear glimpses of what turned into the final solo. Listen to “Only Takes Forever” now!
