Jon Schubert - Pencil Portrait Artist I'm a pencil artist for hire who specializes in people, pets and places. All works are completely hand drawn with no computer enhancements of any kind.

It seems to me that life is made up of details. When you become familiar with something, someone or someplace, it’s the details that make them unique. Capturing that sense of life with just a pencil and paper is a different experience each time. I believe a large part of this style of realism is taking the time and initiative to really notice those details and weave them into your artwork. Seeing

the joy that the end result brings to people is very fulfilling as an artist. My media is graphite pencil on heavy-weight Bristol paper. Each portrait is completely hand drawn with no computer enhancements of any kind. Each piece usually takes anywhere from 10 – 30 hrs to complete. It is important to me to capture the details properly; therefore patience is a must.
