These 2-day fairs are accompanied by live music, entertainment, and other FestivALL festivities in the heart of Charleston, WV. UP NEXT: Capitol Street Art Fair | June 25-26, 2022
The FestivALL Capitol Street Art Fair has been a main event of FestivALL since it began 18 years ago. One of the premier juried fairs in West Virginia, the fair includes fine art and fine crafts that are made by over 10
0 artisans from across the state and beyond. It is renowned for the high quality of its work and the opportunities to interact with the artisans. Media include fine art and photography, pottery, jewelry, glass, fine furniture and wood products, musical instruments, metal works, sculpture, textiles and apparel, bath and body products, specialty foods, and toys. Artisans also include face-painters and caricaturists. The fair is held under long tents that stretch along Capitol Street between Quarrier and Washington Street, East, and includes street performers and free music stages. The fair is held the last weekend of FestivALL every June. The Children’s Art Fair and Library Street Fair are held at the same time on an adjacent block of Capitol Street, between Virginia and Quarrier Streets. This is also a great place for families to roam. Activities include free make and take crafts for children, a children’s art sale with work by children and youth from over a dozen Kanawha County neighborhood partners, a stage with child-friendly performances, and games and other activities for younger children. The Library Street Fair component, which is on Saturday only, includes the Wow Photo Booth, the Friends of the Library bake sale, activities on the Library Plaza, and a used book sale. The activities are designed to be accessible to children with disabilities, whose participation is encouraged. The FestivALL Harvest Art Fair (formerly known as the Harvest Gift Boutique), began as a main event of FestivFALL. This juried fair is an indoor extension of the summer street fair. It has taken place at the elegant Woman’s Club on Charleston on the East End, as well as the urban garage space of The Virginian in downtown Charleston. The same high standards apply to the fine art and fine crafts, and most of the thirty or more artisans also participate in the Capitol Street Art Fair. This event continues to grow in popularity as a staple of FestivFALL and a popular stop for early holiday shopping for hand-crafted gifts. The Harvest Art Fair also includes free make and take activities for children and live music.
