Meet Cypress House!
Under the dogwoods on Cypress Street in Charleston, Missouri, sits a charming yellow house more than 100 years old.
Over the past several months, we've been busy at work—trying to preserve what makes her special while creating a comfortable place for visitors to call home while they're in Charleston.
Our goal is not to make her brand new. It is to save what we can, repair what we couldn’t, and create a comfortable, welcoming place that belongs on this lovely historic street.
Soon, Cypress House will welcome visitors to Charleston—whether they’re coming home to see family, spending a weekend in town, enjoying one of our community events, or simply looking for a quiet place to stay in Southeast Missouri.
There are still a few finishing touches to come, but we decided it was time to introduce her.
In the coming days and weeks, we’ll be sharing the house, some of what we've learned about her history, the treasures we're finding for her, and the people, places and stories that make Charleston a pretty special corner of southeast Missouri.
