Our aim is to inspire students to explore and develop a love of ballet and the performing arts in a safe, nurturing environment. We believe that an education in the arts prepares students for success both in and out of the dance world by instilling in them a sense of integrity, self-confidence, and discipline.

SUMMER 2026 // We are officially halfway through our 2026 Advanced Summer Intensive! A huge thank you to our wonderful Session 2 Master Guest Instructors & DCC faculty for such a phenomenal cap to our June Intensives—our students grew tremendously over the course of last week, and we are incredibly grateful for every moment you spent sharing your expertise, artistry and encouragement in the studio with the dancers! Happy Juneteenth! We’re joining our Charleston community in honoring National Independence Day through reflection, education, conversation & celebration, and hope to see you at some of the amazing local events lined up for this evening & weekend, including special performances by DCC faculty member Jordan Maria! J.O.Y | JUNETEENTH ON THE YARD | Friday, June 19, 12:00-5:00pm at the International African American Museum’s African Ancestors Memorial Garden - Gather with friends, family, and neighbors for a day filled with music, food, and community connection. With free admission all day, it’s the perfect opportunity to tour the IAAM, and enjoy performances by local artists! Ms. Jordan will hit the stage between 1-2:45pm! International African American Museum

JUNETEENTH FAMILY FEST | Saturday, June 20, 3pm-10pm at Riverfront Park - This community-family-based event is open to the public and features activities ranging from live performances, black art displays, games for children, and delicious cultural food! There will also be non-profit organizations, local community service vendors and Historical Black Colleges and Universities on site. Ms. Jordan will kick off the finale on stage at 9:25pm followed by fireworks! Parking is available at the Navy Yard. Juneteenth Family Fest

SUMMER OPEN CLASSES // Session 2 of our Advanced Intensive wraps up tomorrow, but you can keep your summer training momentum going with open classes resuming next week! All Charleston-area advanced dancers ages 11+ (DCC Rising Levels 4A & up) are invited to drop-in!

CREATIVE MOVERS PRESCHOOL // Foster your child’s love of learning through an arts-integrated academic curriculum in our Creative Movers Preschool program! Students learn through traditional lessons, creative movement & play with goals of strengthening language and math foundations; refining motor skills; building confidence in activities; encouraging social & emotional growth; and preparing for a successful transition to kindergarten.

Registration for our 2026-2027 Creative Movers Preschool is open, but spaces are limited! Creative Movers is a tri-weekly program designed for ages 3-4 with a low student-to-teacher ratio. All enrolled students must be potty-trained and meet the minimum age requirement by September 1, 2026 to enroll. The program will run from September 9, 2026- May 28, 2027.
