A rod & reel, a boy and a dream.. Will Dorminy is a beer man. The president of Southern Eagle SC & Southern Eagle GA he's also the backbone of us. Our boy.. a great friend. He's family. Well, he's also a great dad to his kids and Will and his boy & Southern Pigskin Trace love to fish together. It's their passion, it's what they do. An ordinary fishing trip going out in Charleston, SC turned into this incredibly large catch and obviously great day out on the water.

Uber is all over Charleston.

Visiting with the family in northern VA and Washington DC I have found a new best friend. Uber... if you all have this in your city or town it's incredible. A phone app, it's like a taxi but MUCH CHEAPER. Literally you upload the app, request a car and boom you are picked up. And you can find out how much it costs before you get the ride. It's fast, safe & secure, clean cars and really easy to use. We highly recommend UBER.

Nine Line Apparel in Savannah, Georgia itself was co-founded in 2012 by two brothers and US Army Veterans; CPT Tyler Merritt and CPT Daniel Merritt. Tyler, who works out of West Point had this idea in his garage with his family to build a company that could 'give back' to our heroes. Anytime we get together with Official Terry Bradshaw there isn't any air left in the room. BJ Bennett, Matt Osborne, Kevin Thomas and Buddy Martin got together to talk about the popular radio show Southern Pigskin Tonight with Terry Bradshaw and it was a BLAST.

Southern boys, all of us and talking shop is one thing, but listening to Terry's stories is a whole other thing.

Terry Bradshaw is a great human being and we are honored to work along with Terry and the legendary Buddy Martin. Buddy and Terry won an Emmy Awards together. For us south Georgia boys learning what these guys have likely forgotten is epic... but working along side them is career making.

Ocean Lodge and The Rooftop Restaurant

All of us travel a lot with our coverage of SouthernPigskin.com and Espn Coastal Georgia & ESPN Savannah 104.3 & AM 1400. In and out of hotels and or resorts is pretty common. Yes, we are blessed. With that in mind, this weekend was a get away weekend and spent on beautiful St. Simons Island at Ocean Lodge.

Friends in from New York, time to relax and recover. Down Time! What a homerun it was at Ocean Lodge.

As many of you know, during Georgia Football vs Florida Gators football week, St. Simons Island is the home of the Georgia Bulldogs. The Ocean Lodge is sold out generally during this time. However, if you're looking for the perfect vacation spot, get away weekend.. CALL OCEAN LODGE. Southern hospitality at it's finest. The suites are exceptional. And the Ocean Lodge and The Rooftop Restaurant is equally impressive. The menu is seafood loaded, and the view of the ocean and it's sunset are unmatched.

Ocean Lodge is elite. And you absolutely need to, must add this to your southern bucket list. You will thank us later.

Also, chef LeRoy Moore's shrimp & cheese grits at the The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa, these are no ordinary shrimp & grits. Incredible homemade cheese grits with the most flavorful shrimp on top. This is epic stuff! Chef Moore's shrimp and grits join Melinda Sharon's pumpkin ice cream at Dub's, a public house, the turkey club from Hershel's new place, flash fried chicken livers over pasta join peach flavored beer and incredible hushpuppys, spicy fried calamari, an incredible blueberry BBQ sauce, one kick butt fish taco, a fried green tomato that will rock your world, the incredible Thrasher's French Fries, a Panna Cotta and smokey pork chops over baked beans... this is our current Hall of Fame inductees.

Here you go! This is economically sound LOL.. Roger Wood Foods sausage, chicken, maple wood bacon from Publix, potatoes, a little cumin, garlic and salt and pepper. BBQ sauce drizzle over the top of some potatoes and into the oven for 50 minutes. The greens are with bacon and onion, cooked slow. This whole deal was about $20 bucks and takes care of 4 people and it's incredible.

All of us love the Budweiser Clydesdales. These iconic horses are graceful, big and a huge crowd favorite. Today at Southern Eagle GA, the Clydesdales were on full display. It was equally great to visit with our great friend Army football head coach Jeff Monken and his family. Add in Savannah State University Athletics Lady Tigers head coach Cedric Baker who gets his NCAA selection tonight and The Big Guy Frank Sulkowski and a bunch of our other friends, and it was just an incredible day. Tomorrow about million people will watch the Savannah St. Patrick's Day Parade but today... today all of us made a great memory.
