More Time Together.

More Creativity.
More Community.

One of the very best things about KCYC has never been the yarn—it’s been the people. The laughter around the room, the friendships that have formed, the questions that get answered, and the encouragement that’s shared are what make this little yarn shop feel like home.

That’s why I’m excited to announce the evolvement of Stitching in the Village at KCYC! 💙💜💛💜💙

These are the dedicated times each week to bring your knitting, crochet, spinning, or any handwork project and enjoy creating together.

Stitching in the Village at KCYC
First Wednesday of every month • 6:00–8:00 p.m.
Every Thursday • 4:00–6:00 p.m.
Every Saturday • 1:00–3:00 p.m.

We’re also adding dedicated class and stitch-along times to make sure everyone has plenty of opportunity for instruction, questions, and individual help.

Saturday Classes • 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
Wednesday Classes • 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.
Saturday Stitch-Alongs • 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.

The shop will continue its regular business hours—Tuesday through Friday from 12:00–6:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 11:00 a.m.—3:00 p.m., so there will always be time to browse, shop, ask questions, and visit. Needles, Hooks & Nosh and all of our favorite monthly and seasonal events will continue just as they always have.

No matter how long you can stitch during our dedicated Stitching in the Village at KCYC times, I hope you’ll pull up a chair, bring a project, and become part of Stitching in the Village at KCYC. It’s another way we’re growing the community that makes KCYC such a special place.

Yarn on and stay cozy!

Fun Times Happening

Saturday, June 13 at KCYC!

Don’t forget—tomorrow from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Marian Kittle of Kittle Kreations of WV will be at KCYC for a special pop-up shop! Marian creates beautiful handmade jewelry, pottery, and one-of-a-kind gifts, and we’re excited to have her spend the day with us.

Tomorrow is also Worldwide Knit in Public Day 2026, so bring your knitting, crochet, spinning, or other fiber project and join us for some stitching and fellowship. Stay for a few minutes, an hour, or the whole afternoon—whatever fits your schedule. If you have a favorite folding chair, you might want to bring it along just in case we have a full house!
We can’t wait to spend the day creating, stitching, and celebrating fiber arts together.

What Can You Make With One Hank of Tosh DK?

Have you ever fallen in love with a color of yarn but weren't quite sure what to make with just one skein? Madelinetosh Tosh DK is one of those yarns that practically begs to come home with you. Soft, squishy, beautifully hand-dyed, and available in irresistible colors, it's the perfect yarn for small projects that pack a big punch.

One hank of Tosh DK contains approximately 225 yards, which is enough yarn for many satisfying projects. Whether you're looking for a quick gift, a weekend project, or just a way to enjoy a special colorway, one skein can go a long way.

Some favorite one-skein projects include the Honey Cowl, Sophie Scarf, Barley Hat, fingerless mitts, lace kerchiefs, baby bonnets, baby cardigans, boot toppers, textured cowls, decorative pumpkins, and crocheted bandanas. You can even make small baskets, coasters, mug rugs, market bags, or adorable amigurumi creatures.

One of the things we love most about Tosh DK is how well it showcases stitch patterns. The yarn is soft enough for next-to-skin accessories, yet sturdy enough for hats and home décor projects. Every colorway has its own personality, making each finished project feel special.

If you've been saving a single skein for "someday," this might be the perfect time to cast on. Stop by the shop and we'll be happy to help you find the right pattern for your favorite color. You may be surprised by just how much can come from one beautiful hank of yarn.

After all, sometimes the best projects start with just one skein.

Yarn on and stay cozy!
