One of the perks of being an artist in the mountains of Western North Carolina. Sometimes we have to step away from the paintings and just take in the view. 🍂⛰️

Follow our little print and commission shop, , to see our newest releases and works in progress. Today I’m introducing a signed print of a quiet nocturnal scene, layered with deep, luminous color. This piece feels like a small escape to me, while painting it, I imagined calmly wandering through a moonlit garden filled with soft cool leaves and flowers.

Signed prints are available now through the link in bio above. - bio.site/henryandjoy
12” x12” , 16” x 16” , and 24”x 24”

(Many times we paint into the night with the windows open. Listen to the cicadas singing together in the video. They were amazingly loud that summer)

We really aren’t crazy about being in photos. However, I really liked this rare shot of both of our works together. Erik’s standing between the oil paintings “Calm” and “Make it Look Easy”.

A simple study of a common subject. The focus of this study was to vary the hardness and softness of the edges within the painting to give a greater feeling of depth
