"When I saw my room tears were falling out of me... except they were flower tears" -my 6 year old niece's reaction to her newly styled room.

My sister is the most talented interior stylist I know! She has a vision for spaces that are so well designed, but also feel cozy + inviting. Morgan knows how to create storybook atmospheres, probably because she is an amazing writer as well (I keep begging her to write me a short story, and we've always toyed with the idea of her writing a children's book that I would illustrate. *Manifesting it here ;)

Their room is themed around the girls' favorite book "The Secret Garden" + has me reminiscing back to our make-believe game, "Open the Garden Gates" Morgan and I used to play. And I love the final details she paired with this floral wallpaper, like the gingham pillows + one of my Long Neck Ladies paintings I gifted her years back 🌷

Hand-painted wedding veil! 💍 you looked stunning in this custom painted veil ! Congratulations to you + for tying the knot 🥂✨ Wishing you two fellow alumni all the happiness in the world on your new life together! Ashley you are a lovely person + such a visionary. I love the flowers you choose for me to paint on your veil, especially those anemones. I can’t get over how perfectly it all came together. The painted veil was a subtle, artistic pop that paired so beautifully with your contemporary ball gown. It was a wonderful painting process with you !! WE FINALLY DID IT!!!! WE’RE OPENING A GROCERY STORE!!!! 🥳🍓🌿 HUM GROCERY at Historic P.M. King’s is having our soft opening tomorrow [ Saturday, May, 1, 2021 • from 8am-8pm ]
I am so proud of my husband for all the hard work and long hours you’ve put into this store. I love you, let’s do this babe!!! And thankful for all those who have supported us along the way. [AND thankful for y’all listening to me harp about opening a grocery store for FOUR YEARS, it’s finally happening!!]

Moody 🌿 custom portrait for Sasha reached out to me for portraits of her two sons so that she could always remember them at this sweet age. I painted this portrait of her eldest son, Moody. His name is so fitting. I mean, just look at his expression! The collector sent me a photo album full of his interesting looks for me to pick from. Seemingly a child wise beyond his years, I was especially excited to paint his inquisitive smile, his young captivating eyes + I just love his cute little buttoned-down shirt with corduroy britches! Sasha chose to have me custom frame her piece too. We went with a natural wood stain to pair with the fresco-like texture of the painting. Ahhh-bsessed with the final product!!!

I’ll be sharing the process of creating this portrait AND reveal Moody’s younger brother’s portrait soon too!

Hand painting your wedding dress was one of my highlights in 2020 + the fact that you were able to celebrate your marriage in it recently has been a highlight of 2021!! 🦋 Y’all, this beautiful couple had to postpone their wedding plans when Covid hit last March. Kayla + Curtis didn’t let the pandemic stop them from saying their vows though, in an intimate backyard wedding March 21, 2020. One year later, family + friends were finally able to celebrate The Wards together.

I worked closely with Kayla to paint the wedding dress of her dreams. So much love + thought went into every detail of her gown painting— butterflies symbolizing Kayla, birds for her beaux affectionately called ‘Curty Bird’, a ‘folk’ couple to symbolize their union, an anchor for the bride’s PopPop who married the two during their 2020 backyard ceremony, and whimsical flowers, blue ribbons + woven patterns to coordinate with their island inspired recessional with painted tambourines!!

Well aren’t these just the cutest little art collectors you ever did see?! 🧃 I love how Heather styled this abstract painting for her wee one. One of her favorite things about this large painting is how it can transition from a baby’s nursery to kids room, then to a teenage space. “A piece to grow with!”

It still doesn’t feel like it should be December... I get an odd sensation that after that holidays, March 2020 will resume 😅 anyone else?! Thankful for these two talented babes + for anytime I was able to see and hug friends this past year ♥️
