Storytelling has been around for centuries. It involves a two-way interaction between the storyteller and one or more listeners. The responses of the listeners influence the telling of the story.

The Art of Storytelling presented by Rose Hopp Capriotti
Saturday, August 22, 2026 - 4:00-5:30 pm
Firehouse Gallery 108 North George St

Rose Hopp Capriotti has been a creative storyteller for decades. She was a contestant on TV’s To Tell The Truth and was featured in the National Enquirer. Rose has recently published “Do Something With Those Plums,” a children’s book available via Amazon.
Rose’s audiences are comprised of young, older, and in-between - school children, nursing home residents, incarcerated juveniles and adults, church and civic groups. Her community presentations involving puppets (a variety will be on display), mime, and dance
convey wisdom and communicate messages of caring, wonder, faith and peace.
Rose and “Cleo” will tell a newly created tale related to America’s 250th Anniversary of its Declaration of Independence. Rose will also create a story together with all in attendance!

Guy Brescia's stunning collection showcases the beauty and precision of pen and ink illustration, while also featuring works created with pencil, brush pens, pastel chalks, and watercolor. Largely self-taught, Guy returned to his passion for drawing just a few years before retiring from a career in federal law enforcement. His dedication to continually refining his craft is evident in every piece, making this exhibition a remarkable display of both talent and artistic growth.

Many in our community already know Guy as an instructor, having taught popular pen and ink illustration classes at both the Firehouse Gallery and Shepherd University's Lifelong Learning Program. Now's your chance to experience an inspiring collection of his work all in one place.

Guy's exhibition will be on display throughout the month of August, and we'd love for you to stop by and enjoy it. If you're available, please join us as we celebrate Guy at his Opening Reception on Saturday, August 8, from 1:00–3:00 PM. We hope to see you there!
