We have some news to share, and if we’re being completely transparent, this one is a little bittersweet. 🥹

The event you have come to know and love has a new name.

✨ FLOATOPIA Lake Murray✨

This wasn’t a change we necessarily planned on making, and saying goodbye to the name that started all of this is harder than we expected.

That name was there when this was just an idea. It was there for the late nights, the planning meetings, the chaos, the excitement, the first float hitting the water, and the moment we looked around and realized this little idea had turned into something SO much bigger than we ever imagined.

But sometimes growing means adjusting. 😉

We wanted to share this change sooner, but it was important to us that before we made anything official, we took the time to make sure everything was handled properly and that we were fully in compliance moving forward.

So while the name has changed, we wanted to keep it close enough to the original that when you see FLOATOPIA, you know exactly who we are.

Because everything that actually matters is staying the same.

Same event.
Same incredible team.
Same heart.
Same mission.
Same ridiculous amount of work behind the scenes. 😂
Same amazing community.
Same vibes.

Just a new name. 💕

Was this a little bit of a setback? Yep.

Is it going to stop us? Absolutely not.

If anything, it has reminded us that this event was never about a name. It was about bringing people together, creating an unforgettable day on the water, supporting organizations doing important work in our community, and showing just how much good can happen when people come together for something bigger than themselves.

And THAT isn’t changing.

We’ll be announcing the date for the next official FLOATOPIA very soon. 👀🌊

But y’all know us… we’re not very good at sitting around waiting until the next big event.

So we also have a little “mini” event coming NEXT MONTH. 🤭

Because big event or small event, if there’s an opportunity for us to bring people together and give back to our community, we’re going to find a way to do it.

This may not have been part of the original plan.

But sometimes you pivot, pick yourself back up, and keep floating. 💕

This photo may just look like a high five, but to us, it represents so much of what Floatopia is all about.

We are SO incredibly proud of our coordinators. Every single person on our team volunteers their time, energy, talents, and probably more hours than they’d like to admit 😂 to help make these events happen.

And they do it because they genuinely care.

They care about the causes we support. They care about our community. They care about the people who show up. And they care about making sure every person who comes to one of our events has an amazing experience.

There are no paychecks behind the scenes. Just a group of people who believe in what we’re doing and are willing to put in the work to make it happen. 🫶🏼

From months of planning to long event days, problem solving, sweating, laughing, running around like crazy people, and yes…high fiving our incredible guests along the way. 🙌🏼

Floatopia would simply not exist without our coordinators, and we couldn’t be more proud of the heart they put into every single event.

This team is something special. 💕

There are people behind the scenes who make events happen… and then there’s The Chronic Crystal. 💜✨

This year, they took on the huge role of coordinating our vendors—not just for our main event, but for every market leading up to it. And I can honestly say we could not have done it without them.

Managing vendors is no small task. It takes organization, communication, patience, and the ability to solve problems before anyone else even knows they exist. They handled it all and helped create an incredible experience for both our vendors and everyone who came out to support the event.

Beyond everything they did for us, The Chronic Crystal is an amazing local small business based right here in Lexington. They specialize in hand-selected crystals, metaphysical goods, and high-vibration treasures, and you can usually find them bringing their positive energy to pop-up markets all across South Carolina (and beyond!). If you’ve never stopped by their booth, you’re missing out.

Thank you for believing in our vision, for pouring so much of yourselves into this event, and for helping make it such an incredible success. Your hard work absolutely did not go unnoticed, and we are so grateful to have had you by our side every step of the way.
