💙 One of the Reasons We Float 💙

Floatchella has always been about more than just a day on the lake.

Yes, it’s a celebration. Yes, it’s a party. But it’s also an opportunity to shine a light on organizations doing incredible work in our communities—organizations whose stories deserve to be heard.

This year, we are honored to help bring awareness to Lighthouse For Life.

Lighthouse for Life serves survivors of human trafficking and exploitation through trauma-informed care, advocacy, life skills training, support groups, and resources designed to help individuals heal and move forward. They also operate The Harbor, a safe and welcoming space where survivors can find community, support, and hope.

Perhaps what inspires us most is their belief that a person’s story does not end with their trauma. Through compassion, restoration, and unwavering support, Lighthouse for Life helps survivors rediscover their value, rebuild their confidence, and create a new future.

Human trafficking is often something people think happens somewhere else, to someone else. The reality is that it exists in communities across our state and country. Organizations like Lighthouse for Life work every day to educate, advocate, and walk alongside survivors on their journey toward healing.

At Floatchella, one of our goals is to use our platform to introduce people to causes they may not have known about before. If even one person learns more about this issue, shares their mission, volunteers, advocates, or becomes part of the solution because they heard about Lighthouse for Life through Floatchella, then we’ve helped create meaningful impact.

We’re grateful for the work they do, the lives they touch, and the hope they bring to so many.

When most people think of Floatchella, they think of boats, music, Lake Murray, and an amazing day on the water. And yes, it absolutely is all of those things. 🌊☀️🎶

But Floatchella was never created to be just a party.

At its heart, Floatchella is about bringing our community together to shine a light on organizations that are making a real difference right here at home.

Each year, we select one nonprofit from Lexington County and one nonprofit from Richland County to support through Floatchella. This year, we’re honored to support The Hive Community Circle as our Richland County nonprofit partner. 💜

Since 2015, The Hive has walked alongside survivors of sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and stalking across South Carolina. Their mission is centered on providing culturally specific, survivor-driven support while ensuring survivors are met with dignity, compassion, and meaningful pathways toward healing.

Today, The Hive continues to expand its impact by strengthening programs, building partnerships, and creating long-term solutions that foster healing, resilience, and hope throughout our communities.

Organizations like The Hive remind us that real change happens when communities come together to support one another.

So while we’re floating, dancing, and making memories on July 18th, we’re also helping raise awareness for an organization doing incredibly important work every single day.
