We’ve had two straight months washed out by bad weather, so this time we are officially manifesting clear skies and chasing the rain away! The Lavender Social’s Rainbow Exchange Vendor Market is back at Speakeasy in Carrboro (100 E Main St) on Saturday, November 14th, from 1:00 to 7:00 PM, and we’re ready to make up for lost time.

Drop in for an easygoing afternoon of drinks, community, and shopping an eclectic mix of creations from local q***r and ally artists and makers. Whether you're hunting for unique art, handmade goodies, or vintage gems, there’ll be plenty to explore.

To keep the creative energy flowing all afternoon, GRRRLBANDS is teaming up with us for an open mic running from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. The stage is open to all types of performance art—feel free to sign up in advance or just drop in and jump on the mic (check out our dedicated post about the open stage for full details)!

It’s completely free to come hang out and enjoy the afternoon. If you’re a creator looking to share your work, vendor spots are 100% free; just pop over to the links in the bio to apply.

Big weekend ahead—we’re officially kicking off our brand-new monthly open stage with Grrrlbands this Saturday, October 10, and we’d love for you to come hang. We’ll be posted up at Speakeasy Carrboro from 2 to 6 PM to launch what we hope is the first of many afternoons sharing space, creative experiments, and good vibes together.

If you’ve got something you’ve been working on—whether that’s an acoustic song, a poem that needs an audience, a few comedy bits, or literally whatever you feel like trying out—this stage is entirely yours. It’s completely low-stakes, zero ego, and full of q***r folks and allies who just want to cheer you on while you do your thing.

Of course, you definitely don't have to get on the mic to be part of it. If your ideal Saturday involves grabbing a drink, settling into a comfy corner, and soaking in local talent, come be our hype crew. Performer sign-ups are live at the link in our bio, and since we set the lineup order day-of, plan to arrive ready to relax and stay a while. Can’t wait to kick this off with y’all on Saturday! ✨

Come for the drag, leave with a voting partner. 🗳️✨

Kick off Pride Eve with us at Rope In The Vote, hosted by The Lavender Social at The Wheelhouse (The Plant in Pittsboro). We’re bringing together drinks, speed friending, prizes, and performances by Pepper Insult, Gyna Gunt, and Byanka Bangsum. Grab dinner beforehand from Ta Contento or Kingston 99, then head in around 7 PM to grab a drink, slap on a name tag, and find your people. Pepper takes the mic at 7:30 PM for speed friending, followed by Ballot Bingo at 8 PM to help launch the new Chatham LGBTQ+ Democrats chapter—democracy with actual prizes. Afterward, we’ll spill into the Fair Game tasting room to hang out, make voting plans, and plot the rest of our Pride weekend.

It’s totally free and 18+, but space is tight so you'll need to RSVP on the linktree in bio to claim your spot and bingo card. If it fills up, jump on the waitlist because we pull from it!

See you there. 🌈

Thank you so much to everyone who packed out Speakeasy Carrboro for The Q***r Cabaret! You all showed up with so much love, and honestly, it’s no surprise this show was voted one of the best in Orange and Chatham County—here are a few shots to prove it.

Our stunning host and absolute royalty Vyki LaRoxx, Ivy S Sanchez XS, Byanka Bangsum, and Bea Quiet completely set that stage on fire. Thank you for showering them with love (and Drag Dollars)!

Hold tight for the videos coming soon! In the meantime, we want to see the night through your eyes—drop your favorite pics, videos, and memories in the comments or tag us in your posts. 💜
