10th on the lawn of the Duke University Gardens, the Musica String Ensemble was thrilled to perform our 20th performance for the annual Alumni Reunion Brunch.

Sad for viol players, the passing of Judith Davidoff. She was monumental in bringing to the fore of gamba playing, with her New York Consort of Viol. Gamba players all around the world will remember her. RIP Judith.

Melissa, this shortened version of Leonard Bernstein's Mass is stupendous for your solo repertoire. Do encourage your church music director to present it. I just performed it with a small church choir and 15 piece orchestra. Perfect for Aaron too, as it has a wonderful percussion part. The 60s and 70s were such an innovative period for classical music and Bernstein blew it all out of the water.

Noah Benix-Bagley comes from Asheville and last year played the Beethoven Violin Concerto with the NC Symphony. This is a fun group, up there with the 12 Cellists of the Berlin Philharmonic, giving us a whole new perspective on making music. I'm sure they'll be a great hit.

American VC Artist, Berlin Philharmonic 1st Concertmaster Noah Bendix-Balgley is set to join the multi-genre septet, Philharmonix.
