Rain traces quiet patterns across the window while soft music fills the studio. Inside, everything feels warm, vibrant, and alive.

I’m enjoying the tranquil, tactile process of painting my lilies—building color through rich layers of impasto, one expressive petal at a time. Perhaps on the grayest days, color knows how to bloom most brightly.

There is something timeless about lemons—their golden warmth, bright citrus freshness, and simple joy.

In Lemon Sky, vivid yellow meets soft pink, leafy green, and touches of open blue. Together, these colors bring the feeling of summer into an interior: light, warm, fresh, and full of life.

A small piece of sunshine to keep close in every season.

Created with vibrant color, expressive palette-knife strokes, and layers of heavy impasto, this original painting changes gently with the light. Each raised mark catches a different glow, bringing movement and energy to the surface—as though the leaves are still dancing in the warm air.

LEMON SKY was painted to bring the feeling of sunlight, summer, and quiet happiness into a home. It would make a luminous focal point in a kitchen, dining room, entryway, or any space that could use a fresh touch of color.

The original painting is available. Please visit the link in my bio for details, or feel welcome to message me with any questions.

For one beautiful autumn day, the Minnesota Renaissance Festival carried us far beyond ordinary life.

Music drifted through the lively village, vibrant costumes passed around every corner, and a secret path beneath the trees led us into the delicate world of fairies.

We happily surrendered to the wonder of it all-and I returned home with a small woodland treasure: a whimsical mushroom necklace!

I am never quite ready to say goodbye to summer. Its happiness lives in simple things: a warm sky with just a hint of freshness in the air, the freedom of an open landscape, and the comforting shade of trees still full of leaves. It is the scent of herbs warmed by the sun, long evenings, bare feet, and golden light that seems to linger a little longer just for us.

Perhaps that is why I paint these colors—to keep a small piece of summer close as the season begins to fade.

What does summer happiness feel like to you?

A new collection of small paintings is quietly flowering in my studio.

Each lily is painted on a cradled wood panel, yet each seems to open into a world of its own. Blush pink carries tenderness. Warm cream holds the softness of morning light. Violet brings a touch of mystery, deep green offers stillness, and golden accents rise like small sparks of joy.

Some lilies feel peaceful and contemplative; others are bright, expressive, and full of movement. Though intimate in scale, every painting carries the atmosphere of an entire pond—floating leaves, shifting reflections, hidden depths, and a flower turning toward the sky.

The collection is still in progress, slowly unfolding through new layers, colors, and brushstrokes. More studio blooms are coming soon.

DO YOU RECOGNIZE THIS TOWER?

Yesterday was a wonderful day at the Golden Valley Arts & Music Festival—filled with live music, art, warm conversations, and a beautiful sense of community.

A heartfelt thank-you to the Minnesota Artists Guild for organizing the event and creating such a welcoming atmosphere. It felt especially lovely to have the Guild nearby throughout the day.

I’m also so happy that my painting Harbor Depth found its home with such a warm family. And to my new collectors—thank you for supporting my passion and taking home pieces from my new print collection. Every connection and kind word meant so much to me.

I’m leaving this beautiful day with a full heart.

opening within the space. Beside earthy ochre or deep red, its crimson and peach petals feel warmer. Surrounded by greens or soft gray-violets, the painting becomes quieter, deeper, and wonderfully harmonious.

Because so many hues live within it, the painting finds a connection almost anywhere. It may stand out or gently settle in—but it always brings the feeling of water, light, and a garden breathing inside the room.

My newest painting!

Built through richly layered, tactile palette-knife strokes, this piece brings luminous crimson and peach into conversation with deep blues, malachite, and viridian greens. As the light changes, highlights and shadows travel across the raised surface, continually revealing new details.

The deep greens and blues create a grounding presence, while the luminous lilies bring softness and quiet energy. Together, they transform the painting into a small visual sanctuary—a place for the eye to wander, the breath to soften, and the mind to rest.
