First walk of the day on a Saturday still healing for my hernia surgery and I go see my Weight Loss Center nutritionist on Tuesday next week and hopefully I’m half the woman I was when I started this 2 1/2 years ago. 😂🥰

What I eat in a day. Monday Memorial Day home with my toddler and husband. 5 months post VSG and 1 month post C-section hernia repair surgery. Some pain but manageable and I went to bed super early 😅😮‍💨

I finally wrote a post about reading "White Fragility: Why It’s So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism" by Dr. Robin DiAngelo, which means I voluntarily spent my free time reflecting on systemic racism instead of dissociating on my phone scrolling.

One of the most important ideas in the book is that racism is not an event. It’s a system. White supremacy is embedded in institutions, culture, education, media, and everyday interactions.

The book challenged me, frustrated me, taught me a lot, and gave me plenty to sit with afterward. I wrote about some of those thoughts and what I personally took away from it here:

Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) renamed polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS)!  because although cysts may be involved, the name is misleading because this is an entire hormone metabolic issue and not just related to ovarian cysts, although that can be a symptom.

Day five healing from my incisional hernia repair surgery. The hernia is caused by my C-section and resulting necrotizing fasciitis infection 2 1/2 years ago and I am pretty much achy and in pain today, but I’m also showing my surgery pictures in this video. Please don’t watch if you are squeamish. 😊
