We are hosting a pet portrait workshop on May 6, 2023. You may choose a pet or any animal. We will be hands on learning and focusing on details like the eyes. You must join or be a member of Arizona Quilters Guild to participate. It is $45 per person. The workshop is being taught by Rochelle Rice, Podcaster on The Innnapropriate Quilters and she was just published in Quiltfolk magazine! Please reach out by email to [email protected] for details. Some of the 50 quilts donated to Quilts of Valor.

May I introduce you to four veterans who were awarded their Quilts of Valor yesterday (10-15-22) in Tucson, AZ. Thomas is an Air Force veteran who served Vietnam; Robert is an Air Force veteran who served in several areas during the Vietnam Era; William is a Marine Corps veteran who served in Vietnam; and Stephen is an Air Force vetean who served in several areas during the Gulf War. It was a privilege to meet each of these veterans. Many, many thanks to them for serving in our military during some very difficult times, and we wish them a heart-felt "Welcome Home."
Many thanks also to Nimble Thimbles who donated these quilts as a part of their 40th Anniversary celebration.

I got so many free aloe vera plants from Scottsdale Community College plant sale this weekend. I can bring Tuesday night if anybody wants any. They filled the back of my car.

Hi sister (and brother, if any) quilters! Here's hoping most of your holiday quilting is done or getting there.
I hope you are looking forward to the 2022 Quilt Arizona! in March. We miss our quilt show so much!!! (Please forgive the enthusiastic use of punctuation.)
But...
We can't have a quilt show if you don't enter your quilts!! Simple as that. AND, even with the quilts entered, we can't have a quilt show without member volunteers hosting it!
Can you smile and make change? Great! Volunteer to do a shift or 2 in admissions (selling tickets).
Can you get excited about showing both sides of quilts on display? White-gloving might be your fit.
Can you keep watch on the quilts so no one mistakes one for her/his own and sneaks it out of the show? Great! Security is for you! And, you get to rest your feeties as this is a sit-down assignment. (Woo hoo!)
Are you curious as to how the judging of quilts takes place? There's a place for you there!
Please visit the the AQG website and volunteer for a few shifts. You get the nifty show pin as well as get in FREE the day of your shifts.
