We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Baby Hill today!

The animals are all on their best behavior at the farm, and Joe is “holding down the fort.”

As for me… I’ll boil water and shred sheets—or whatever a first-time grandma is supposed to do at times like these! ❤️

Meanwhile, Lindsay Hill and I are making the most of the waiting game by exploring museums, exhibits, and Austin’s incredible music scene.

Why not enjoy Austin while we wait to welcome our newest little blessing into the world? 💕

🍉 Help us welcome a new farm to the ROOTED family! 🍅🌽

We're excited to welcome C&M Faithful Farms as one of our newest local growers!

If you've driven along Highway 175, you've probably seen their farm stand. Now, they're bringing their fresh-picked harvest straight to ROOTED ETX Local Goods + Market, making it even easier to shop local.

This week's harvest includes:
🍉 Sweet, juicy watermelons
🍈 Fresh cantaloupes
🍅 Vine-ripened slicing tomatoes
🍅 Roma tomatoes
🌱 Plus other seasonal produce as it's ready to harvest.

Every piece of produce represents the hard work of a local farm and the reward of eating with the seasons. The shorter the trip from field to table, the better the flavor, the fresher the produce, and the stronger our local food system becomes.

We're proud to partner with farms like C & M Faithful Farms that are committed to feeding our community with fresh, locally grown food.

Stop by, stock up, and help us give them a warm ROOTED welcome! 💚

Know your farmer. Support local. Eat what's in season. 🌾🍅🍉

I’m taking a 10-day break from Cade’s Corner Art Park to celebrate life. ❤️

There is so much to celebrate.

In just a few days, my beautiful daughter and my best friend will arrive, so I’ve got some happy nesting to do at home. Then comes one of the greatest blessings of all—the arrival of my first grandchild. She is already so deeply loved.

Before I step away, I found myself reflecting on my own childhood here at Cade’s Corner. I thought about spending time with my crafty great-grandmother, Goodie, and my grandmother Ione, playing with chickens, gardening, quilting, crochet, needlepoint, creating things with our hands, and learning that some of life’s greatest treasures aren’t things at all—they’re the memories we make together.

Those moments planted seeds that have grown into this place.

For the next 10 days, I’m going to soak up every precious moment with family, celebrate a brand-new life, and fill my own heart before returning to continue building dreams at Cade’s Corner Art Park.

Life is so very good. 💕

This morning I’m out at Cade’s Corner Art Park mowing, and to say this week has been a magical mystery tour would be an understatement.
I’ve had so many meaningful conversations and unexpected moments that I’m honestly still trying to process it all. I feel incredibly blessed and grateful for the love and encouragement that’s been pouring into this little dream in Chandler.
On Sunday and Monday, Joe Hopps showed up ready to work. He completely demolished the old area to make way for the new Cade’s Corner Cupboard and Coffee space—removing old walls, cabinets, Sheetrock, and years of history to make room for something new.
Tuesday, I met with my CPA, Melissa Jeter Combs, to share the vision for this community art project and discuss the business plan. Over the past few years she has taught me so much, and I’m thankful for her wisdom and guidance.
Later that day, I met Jarrett with JLH Electric at Cade’s Corner to look at the electrical damage from a storm that had left parts scattered everywhere. He was as professional as anyone could hope for, and his manners would make any mama proud. As we talked, I shared the dream for Cade’s Corner Art Park, and he shared about the incredible work he and his wife do supporting exchange students and investing in their community.
Wednesday was one of those days where progress happened quietly behind the scenes.
Then came Thursday.
I met with the president of Simmons Bank to discuss business plans and financing. He was knowledgeable, encouraging, and together we put together a path forward.
After that meeting, I stopped by Cade’s Corner…
And I just stood there.
The electrical work had been transformed. New poles. New boxes. Everything looked beautiful.
I hadn’t seen a bid. I hadn’t received an email. I hadn’t gotten a text.
It was simply…done.
I’m still trying to understand this week. It feels like every time I turn around, another person believes in this dream enough to invest their time, wisdom, encouragement, or hard work.
Maybe that’s how communities are built—not by one person, but by many people quietly showing up.
Thank you, Chandler.
We’re just getting started.
