Champaign-Urbana Open Mic Nights A running tally of all the places and nights you can go out and perform in the Champaign-Urbana area. Its rules:
--No full bands; sorry. No CDs/jump drives.

Every Wed - The Space, 6pm
Every Mon - Hootenany at Rose Bowl, 8pm
Last Thu of every month - Cowboy Monkey, 8pm After thirteen years, Cowboy Monkey's open mic no longer exists. It will rise from the ashes at the Canopy Club on Mondays in November. Small amps or other instruments can generally be accommodated. No DJ sets.
--Hip-hop acts: You need to be able to play your own tracks on stage, via pho

ne or laptop or mp3 player. TRACKS MUST BE INSTRUMENTALS. It's silly if you're just rapping or singing over a track of you doing the same thing. Get ready for real gigs by trying instrumentals here. Other open mics in C-U:
