SO excited to see the progress on a new mural in Rantoul celebrating the Tuskegee Airmen by muralist Dwight White II! The mural will be part of the Champaign County African American Heritage Trail and is supported by the Experience Champaign-Urbana Foundation through a grant from Illinois Arts Council's America 250 initiative!

Our creative filmmakers have done something that has never been done for Pens to Lens before…

Two of the student screenplays produced this year were filmed in 3D! Get your tickets to the Pens to Lens 2026 red-carpet gala on August 15 at 3pm and see for yourself! A set of 3D glasses will be provided for every attendee to enjoy this enhanced Pens to Lens experience.

Join us in celebrating our creative youth and see 16 short films written by local students at Pens to Lens 2026 on Saturday, August 15 at The Virginia Theatre! Doors will open at 2pm for red-carpet photos and the movie screening will begin at 3pm.

SO thrilled to have "INFINITE POSSIBILITIES" installed today at Stampofski Park in Downtown Champaign (next to Esquire Lounge on University). This sculpture was created by Champaign Unit 4 Schools welding students and designed by Gregory Stallmeyer as part of the YES (Youth Employment Services) Program! Don't miss the official unveiling and ribbon cutting on Friday, August 14 at 5:15pm! Special thanks to Public Works at City of Champaign - Municipal Government.

40 North 88 West and Urbana Arts and Culture Program are delivering a Saturday of fun before summer break comes to an end!

Celebrate back-to-school at PostMark Urbana- August 2026 on Saturday, August 8 from 2-4pm on the front lawn at The Urbana Free Library. The first 50 school-aged youth who attend will get a free bag of assorted school supplies courtesy of Busey Bank (2-4pm) and free Kona Ice courtesy of 40 North 88 West and Urbana Arts and Culture Program (2:30-3:30pm)!

Stop by the 40 North 88 West table to pick up your map and scavenger hunt sheet. Find all of the GIANT school supplies for your chance to win $100 in prizes for the back-to-school scavenger hunt inside downtown businesses! At the library, listen to music from DJ mingram, experience bubble fun, and participate in games and crafts with Urbana Park District’s Urvana Mobile Recreation Unit!
