Whitney's Artwork

Whitney's Artwork Fluid acrylic artist passionate about painting! See my Etsy shop for my art for sale. No NFTs. This is my joy and each piece I make is a unique expression!!

I am a self-taught acrylic fluid artist - sharing my love of painting and the artwork I create! I love how this technique of painting is so freeing and allows creative intent along with "happy accidents" (thank you, Bob Ross!). I began painting in my youth, perhaps inherited some abilities from my grandmother (who was an amazing painter), and then started focusing on exploring and honing my skills

with fluid painting. I hope you will follow me on this painting journey!! Please visit my website for more information or my Etsy shop (etsy.com/shop/whitneysartwork) where you can view original canvas artwork or professional prints of my paintings for sale. Thank you!! ~Whitney

✨ From blank canvas to pure magic.

I started with a white base, then added what looked like complete chaos—in so many hues of blue, pink, silver and gold.

The real transformation happened when I blew the paint out and watched the colors come alive. Every movement created something unexpected, turning messy lines of paint into a vibrant abstract piece full of energy and flow.

This is one of my favorite things about fluid acrylics: you can plan the colors, but the final result always has a surprise waiting for you.

💙 Which color stands out most to you: Blue, Magenta, or Gold?

I really thought I might ruin this painting. 😳🌊

Adding texture was the biggest risk of the entire process—but it’s also what brought these waves to life.

Worth it?

👇 Let me know what you think.

Adding texture to a fluid acrylic painting is always a gamble because once it’s on, there’s no going back.

I had a vision of these waves crashing off the canvas, but I wasn’t sure if the texture would enhance the movement—or completely overpower it.

Thankfully, it turned out even better than I imagined. The added dimension brought the waves to life and gave the painting the energy I was hoping for from the start.

Was this risk worth taking? 🌊

This painting is only half finished… 🌊

Part 1:
Starting a new 24x48” double wave painting with fluid acrylics on a gallery-wrapped canvas. This first layer is all about movement, color, and setting the foundation for what’s next.

Stay tuned for Part 2, where I’ll add 3D texture to bring these waves to life.

Which part of the ocean inspires you most—the calm before the wave or the crash itself?

A reminder for anyone who needs it:

Take a break from the noise.
Put down the pressure.
Step away from the endless doing.

Be present.
Be here.
Be human.

This piece was created with fluid acrylics—a practice that always brings me back to the moment and reminds me that we’re all connected in ways we often forget.

✨ One moment.
✨ One breath.
✨ One shared experience.

From blank canvas to finished piece in 20 seconds.

Fluid acrylics, metallic highlights, and a restrained neutral palette come together on a grey backdrop to create movement without excess.

Sometimes less really is more.

Watch “Sakura Petals” come to life in 3D ✨

Seeing my painting transformed into this digital visualization by adds a whole new dimension to the textures, movement, and depth.

The contrast between the bold negative space, rich black texture, and sculpted petal details makes this piece impossible to ignore. Every angle reveals something new.

This piece truly tested me. The first resin coat didn’t cure correctly, and for a moment I thought the painting was ruined. I ended up sanding down the top layer and re-pouring the resin — and thankfully, it came back even more beautiful than I imagined. 🌊✨

Layers of deep ocean blues flow beneath vibrant bursts of orange, yellow, turquoise, and shimmering gold, creating movement that feels alive from every angle. The glossy resin finish brings out every detail and gives the painting incredible depth and light.

This painting feels like a deep breath.

“𝒮𝑜𝒻𝓉 𝒮𝒶𝑔𝑒 & 𝒪𝓇𝒸𝒽𝒶𝓇𝒹” captures calm movement, soft earth tones, and light through layers of resin.

It’s time for more coasters! ✨⏹️

These 4 new designs are finally finished and this time they’re all square sets! Each coaster is made from ceramic tile, hand painted with fluid acrylics, resined for that glossy finish, and backed with cork.

They’ll be available next weekend (5/23-5/24) along with many of my new paintings at the Alpharetta Arts Fest at my booth!

Which one draws your eyes? 👀✨

I’m getting the final pieces ready for the Alpharetta Arts Fest next weekend, and these new shimmering round coasters might be my favorite drop yet.

I’ve always loved round coasters + anything with a little sparkle, so creating these was way too much fun. These are just a few from 4 brand-new coaster sets I finished this week!

Now I need help deciding… which design is your favorite? 💫
