We're honored to welcome the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra String Quartet as part of this special day. Their performance will help commemorate a decade of Dignity and the enduring message of respect, unity, and hope that she represents.

The colors of Dignity's star quilt weren't chosen at random. Artist Dale Claude Lamphere looked to the landscape itself, the blues of the Missouri River, the ever-changing sky, and the natural beauty surrounding the sculpture for inspiration.

As the light changes throughout the day and across the seasons, the quilt reflects those same colors, ensuring that no two visits to Dignity are ever exactly alike.

It's one more example of how every detail of Dignity was thoughtfully designed to connect with the place she calls home.

By intentionally leaving open spaces throughout the sculpture, artist Dale Claude Lamphere allowed wind and sunlight to become part of the artwork itself. It's one of the many thoughtful details that makes every visit to Dignity unique.
