We have a few new paintings by Mike Sherman, most of them of lovely, calming waterfalls and landscapes. Mike has been painting, almost daily, for a lifetime and he paints the scenes that inspire him. Stop by the Gallery to experience these images and to see if one of them would brighten, or even calm, a room or an office that you inhabit!

WE GOT MORE LINDA to show and share!! Accomplished artist Linda Durdle visited from Wessington Springs to bring us an amazing selection of new paintings, in a wide variety of sizes, subjects and price points. She's got abstracts and representative images, a diptych of a South Dakota landscape and a gorgeous series of roses in several different sizes and frames. You must come in to see all of the incredible paintings, in oils, watercolors and acrylics, while we still have them. These will fly off the wall and out of the Gallery quickly...

In addition to our wide selection of visual art, Eastwards has a Book Nook where we offer titles by local authors (and a few not so local.) Our Book Nook has opened up and we have more space, if you know some local writers looking for another place to sell a few of their books...? Right now though we have some great titles well worth exploring! Come check it out:

Our uber-talented Kathi Anderson has brought in a few of her blank cards. The folding paper style of these cards provide a very detailed, three-dimensional image ideal for a unique gift for someone who doesn't need more 'stuff'. These go far beyond a simple card. They are also a small bit of art for decorating or brightening a small area. And like nearly all of the art in the Eastwards Art Gallery, these cards are much more interesting when seen in person!

Photos by Sally Schroeder are a great way to get into the spirit of summer!! Sally takes photos from around her ranch near Irene, South Dakota, and she currently has at Eastwards mounted photos that really capture a mid-west summer. Sally's amazing images are also on blank cards for those wishing to take home and share these great photos in quantity. Stop by the Gallery to see these pictures in person!

Dakota Winds Photography has many images on display (and for sale) at Eastwards that fully capture the spirit of a Central South Dakota summer! Kendra Perry Koski has brought in photos mounted and/or matted, and on blank cards, to show a wide breadth of mid-west life. Stop by to see these incredible shots in person, with their frames of recovered wood and printed on metal. They must be experienced.

In addition to dozens of artists from Central South Dakota, our curator shows his own art - photos from sites around the U.S., Canada and the world. Adrian Laney is a trained, professional photographer who now uses his talents to shoot images he sees from the corner of his eye. His 'Scenes From The Sidewalk' series contains a wide variety of images, all framed and on display at Eastwards. Stop by to see (and shop) Adrian's pictures from all over!!

The Gallery will be OPEN today for American Island Day, to provide a respite area for anyone looking for an escape from the weather! We have gorgeous art to view - and purchased - or just enjoy our air-conditioned comfort.

The Gallery has closed for Winter Break.
If you do need something, please contact Adrian a.s.a.p. Otherwise, we will see you in March when we want to show off new art from our current artists - and hopefully interesting art from new artists!! (Hint: Laura?)
As for photos, expect to see LOTS and LOTS when we return... but enjoy this koala since we're going to be 'shooting' Quokkas this time!!
