NEXT Thursday, June 4, from 2-3pm, we'll have a fire truck from the Centralia Fire Department, a John Deere tractor from the Reichman Brothers, a Show and Tell from the Centralia High School FFA, and a ton of carnival games to play with prizes!

Come kick off Summer Reading for all ages with us!

It's great to have this a part of the community once again. Welcome Carol, we'll see you there.

While not painting, sketching or sculpting, the performers for our summer concert series are sharing the Art of Music with everyone close enough to hear it. Join us at the Carillon Park tomorrow at 6:30pm and welcome Carols Lens to Centralia. She has traveled the world sharing the gift of music and we are so excited to hear her performer.

Thank you Chris!

I won’t share his last name or picture because he would hate the attention. But those of you who know our park workers know exactly who Chris is. Chris had worked at Foundation Park for nearly a decade last year when he came to me about his pay.

He informed me that he would no longer be accepting a paycheck for the work he does at the park. Instead, he would be a volunteer. All summer he worked without earning a dime. Come March of this year, he was back to do it all over again.

I am writing this today to give a big “Thank You!” to Chris and all the other volunteers throughout this community. So many things would not be possible without these people in our community.
