Hello Everyone, So I have some bad news... I am canceling the upcoming session of classes that we were about to start next week through the first week of November. I have discovered that I have had close contact with several individuals who have tested positive for Covid. Also some fertility treatment I will be undergoing in Eugene that was supposed to be during the last two weeks of November has been moved up to begin October 28. I have issued refunds for any classes that were paid for already for the upcoming session and I did not charge logos anything.

This has just not been my lucky year for starting a business teaching art classes. I will update my page and send out emails once classes are back on the horizon once again. I am so sorry for all the hassle! What a year this has been.

Hey again everyone, I just about have the classes sorted out, I’m still trying to juggle a few days and times because of the social distancing. I’m trying to put similar age kids together. I will bring in another small table which will enable me to accommodate three kids, or more if siblings can sit together. I will be messaging some of you soon to see if my proposed schedule works for y’all.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT — REOPENING SOON!!!

Hello again everyone! So, I am eyeballing the week of October 1 to re-open! Because of social distancing things will look a little different as we ease back into it. I am thinking of offering as many as two classes per day on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. I am also looking at doing one or two online Zoom classes during the week as well for any who would rather do virtual.

Rather than say ahead of time what the classes will be, I am giving priority to families and their close friends who can social distance together in a cluster, due to limited space, and letting the group determine the tule of class. In other words, I can fit up to six kids around my big table comfortably if not having to keep them 6 feet apart. The ages in the group will determine what type of class it is.

For partial groups that are unrelated and not in a cluster, I can accommodate up to two related kids at each end of the table from two different families since there is about 6 feet between each end.

Worst case scenario, I have only one kid at each end of the table.

Last but certainly not least, I will be offering zoom classes that still will have the personal touch and instruction from a live teacher, but you will logon from your own home using your own supplies. These will be private zoom classes, not open to the general public so very safe and secure for kids to join, participate, ask questions, and interact with the teacher and each other. If I have more requests for online classes than I do for in person, priority will be given to the online classes to serve as many kids as possible.

So here’s what I need from you: please reply either in the comments or message me what day and time you would prefer and how many kids you will be bringing that can social distance in a “cluster“. They can either be family or close friends. I can accommodate up to six if not social distancing.

If you have only one or two kids you would like to bring to class, please note there may be one or two other children in the class at the other end of the table.

Feel free to network with other close families to try and get a group of kids you feel comfortable social distancing together in a group with to have a higher chance of being prioritized.

Or if you would prefer an online class, let me know you would rather be doing that and how many kids from your group would participate and the ages. Also preferred days and times, I will do my best to accommodate.

Whew...I know that was a lot! I really hope it made sense, I can’t wait to get back into doing art with kids, I need it as much as they do after all the craziness of 2020 and the fires! Goodness gracious. I can’t wait to hear from all of you and get it on the calendar!

P.S. Pricing is $15 per class per kid in-person
Online classes are $10 per kid per class.
NOTE: Some projects may require 2 or three class sessions to complete.

Hi friends, just an update. Shortly after I shared my last post about reopening soon, that same afternoon the fires around here in Southern Oregon got out of control and most of us were evacuated (us included), many of our family and dear friends lost their homes, and now we are waiting to see whether the fires take many more. We are all just holding our breath. So, all that to say updates will be coming on reopening soon, just not quite as soon as I was hoping.

However, kids (and adult!) are going to need art now more than ever so I will be giving my all to bring art to my community and beyond just as SOON as I’m able!!! In the meantime, please keep us in your thoughts and prayers, this isn’t over yet and the threat is still very real, even for our home if the winds work against us. Stay tuned!

Join me tomorrow, Tuesday, June 16 at 2PM Pacific time and make a beautiful placemat and placesetting while learning about how to set the table properly and a few manners tips! Please note, the time has CHANGED from the usual 3 o’clock time. I hope to see you there!

For the lesson, you need a circle template for the plate; a real plate works great for this, plus a few smaller circles if you want extra designs inside. I like to have a real plate to look at for pattern ideas but this is not required.

You will also need a spoon, a butter knife, a regular size fork and an optional smaller fork to trace around. You can do this whole thing with regular markers or crayons, but I will use sharpie markers, pencils and watercolor. You will also want a very large piece of paper! If you don’t have a large paper, you can do this on regular size paper and just make the plate much smaller.

Join me for a Facebook Live lesson today art 3pm Pacific! I will show you how to draw a face! It’s up to you if you want to do a self portrait or an imaginary person. The tutorial will be for a front view to keep it simple.

There will be an “Artiquette” tip of the day for a mini manners lesson related to the project.

You can choose to simply draw with a pencil, use colored pencils or markers, paint, or a combination!

I will offer some alternative simplified steps for the younger kids too!
