06/24/2026
โTwas the night before The Linn County Fair and all through the grounds,
Not a tractor was stirring, not even the sounds.
The banners were hung on the buildings with care,
In hopes that fairgoers soon would be there.
The livestock lay settled, all snug in their pens,
While exhibitors dreamed of blue ribbons and wins.
The midway stood silent, the stage lights were dark,
Awaiting the crowds from dawn until dark.
The volunteers rested after countless long days,
Preparing the grounds in so many ways.
From sweeping the barns to planting each flower,
They gave of themselves hour after hour.
The food stands stood ready with lemonade and fair food treats,
The smell of fair favorites soon filling the air.
The grandstand sat waiting, the seats all in rows,
For concerts, bulls, barrels, and exciting motor shows.
Then out by the entrance there arose such delight,
The fairgrounds were glowing in the soft evening light.
The flags gently waved as the breeze drifted by,
Beneath the warm colors of an Iowa sky.
And I heard someone whisper as they looked with a grin,
โTomorrow the memories begin once again.โ
So welcome to Linn County Fair 2026, where traditions are shared,
Where laughter is rich and friendships are paired.
For the Linn County Fair is finally here,
A week full of memories weโll cherish all year! ๐ก๐ ๐๐ฝ๐ถโค๏ธ
