Central City Opera World-class performances. Intimate theater. Authentic Rocky Mountain setting. 35 min from Denver, CO.

Founded in 1932, Central City Opera is the nation's fifth-oldest opera company, located just 35 miles west of Denver in one of Colorado's official National Landmark Historic Districts. The company continues to present artistically excellent professional opera in its annual summer festival; to offer career-entry training to young singers; to produce education and community service programs; and to preserve and maintain the Opera House and 28 other Victorian-era properties.

We’re headed back to Lincoln Hills!

Join Central City Opera touring artists for three amazing events in the beautiful Colorado mountains.

🏡 Sep 27-Clara Brown Day
đź—˝Oct 17- Great American Composers
🌠 Oct 18- Earth to Kenzie

Lincoln Hills is a unique pillar of Colorado history: founded in 1922 as the only Black-owned mountain resort in the Rocky Mountains. Lincoln Hills gave generations of Black families — and visiting luminaries like Duke Ellington, Langston Hughes, and Zora Neale Hurston a safe place to breathe.

This Steinway piano is special.

We had a wonderful conversation with Lotte Lieb Dula, who generously presented her family’s piano to Central City Opera.

Learn why she chose to dedicate the piano to CCO, the personal meaning behind it, and her hopes for the piano’s future. Thank you, Lotte and family, for this generous dedication.
