We spent ten weeks in the thick of this kitchen renovation. No sink. No dishwasher, which meant I was washing dishes in our upstairs bathroom. No stove, so every meal had to be microwaved or air-fried. And I’m pretty sure any electrician would cover their eyes at the number of appliances I had running out of our living room on the old k**b and tube wiring.
I remember telling a friend that this short season would be good for the kids, to teach them contentment and to be grateful for what they have. Turns out, I may have learned that lesson the most.
I’m thankful for the friends who opened their homes and fed our family along the way. Thankful for all the people and businesses who worked so hard to help bring this kitchen to life.
