Amy Grammer, fiber artist

I have been drawn to fiber arts for as long as I can recall, beginning with needlepoint and cross stitch, then crochet. Knitting has held my attention for over twenty years, with its balance between beauty and functionality in the created items. I design many of my own patterns and enjoy combining different types of stitches and fibers, working with texture. More recently I have been exploring the process of making yarn from wool, learning to process raw fleece and creating yarn on a spinning wheel.

I find great joy in teaching knitting, both introducing it to beginners and guiding intermediate knitters through more advanced techniques.
