The temperatures are finally getting cooler and there’s truly a hint of Fall in the air! So that can only mean one thing… it’s time for Tour de Cedars!

We hope you’ll join us, as you’re invited to spend next Sunday September 6th from 12-4pm, touring homes in the beautiful Western Slope town of Cedaredge, on the 8th Annual Tour de Cedars! home tour!

Last evening was an absolute incredible experience of music topped off with perfect weather and friendship, at GMAEC!
Hundreds turned out to dance and enjoy the “Anthony Garcia & Los Diablos Tejanos” band, from Austin, TX! 🎶

Thank you to the hundreds who attended, our fun-loving and hard-working volunteers, Tacos La Gran Señora and Mesa Moon Inn & Suites for feeding and lodging our musicians, Rocking W Cheese & Milk for their amazing ice cream… and a huge thanks to Cristee-Meade Building Company for their generosity in sponsoring this enjoyable music series!
We are so fortunate to live in this very special community!!!

Saturday, September 12th at the Grand Mesa Writers Symposium - Keynote: Writing With A Sense of Place , 7- 8:30pm in the GMAEC theatre.

Join your host Christie Friesen Aschwanden as she moderates a conversation between the writers about how a sense of place informs their writing, the genesis of their featured creative works, and the “ins and outs” of their creative process.
Paolo Bacigalupi, Kierstin Bridger and Craig Childs will each read a selection from their latest books and offer insights into how they created these works.

📙 A book signing will take place immediately following this event.

This Keynote is available to attend as a stand alone event, or is included in the Symposium's weekend pass for September 11th-13th.

We are excited to be bringing the 2nd Annual Grand Mesa Writers Symposium, the weekend of September 11th-13!

✒️ What makes GMWS unique is our focus on community. This is a welcoming place to convene with other writers and readers. Our presenters aren't just speaking from the stage, they're also active participants in the less formal social activities. Join us in building a community of word lovers on the Western Slope.

Now that was fun!!! 🎶

Last evening we experienced another great Friday night of music and friendship, at GMAEC!
Despite the heat, hundreds turned out to dance and enjoy “Quicksand Soup”!

Thank you to all who attended, our fun-loving and hard-working volunteers, The New Fork Foodie and “Lil Bit O Heaven” for feeding and lodging our musicians, Scoops On The Edge for their amazing ice cream… and a huge thanks to Cristee-Meade Building Company for their generosity in sponsoring this enjoyable music series!
