Jack Pachuta just completed this beautiful print of Paul Yank his old friend and mentor. This is a lovely tribute to Paul’s teaching style and to the strong connection he had with his students! Paul had a unique style of portraiture that broke a face into geometric shapes. He was intrigued by the symbols and legends of many cultures, primarily Native American and Japanese - thus the faces in the top corners. You can see Paul’s influence in this amazing print by Jack Pachuta!❤️

Please join us at the reception this Thursday May 26 at 5:00. Artist and printmaker, Jack Pachuta, will give a presentation on the print methods used by all Paul’s studio artists.

The Ozaukee Art Center members and students, past and present, are heart broken by the loss of their founder and president, Paul Yank, who passed away October 1, 2020 after a short battle with cancer. Paul, along with his wife, Marian, founded the art center in 1971. He dedicated the last 30 years of his life to fostering the arts in the City of Cedarburg and the greater Wisconsin area. He not only volunteered as president of the art center, but also taught classes there to local artists the entire 30 years! Paul was an artistic genius, seen in his beautifully complex sculptures and prints, but he was also an extremely kind and generous teacher and friend to all that knew him!
