VERY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: This NYE @ Wild Hogs Saloon in Walford will most likely be Crazy D's last NYE performance. So, if you'd like to spend NYE with us one last time, we'd sure love the experience of sharing that with you. It will also be our last show until the last weekend in February, 2026.
Now, the reason for this being our last NYE is actually better news than the alternative, which would have been then end of Crazy D as we currently know it. With that said, we'll get to the good news, and that news is that Crazy D will continue to be the band you know and love today, but moving forward we will only be playing May thru the end of August every calendar year. In a nutshell, no more cold weather dates and only primetime gigs for CD moving forward. (We anticipate keeping most of our awesome annual summer events like Mt. Vernon Heritage Days, Bobbers, Marion by Moonlight, etc.)
Since I have your attention and you've kept reading this far, we'd like to share how we came to this agreement. For those of you who do not know, Nicole lives in Riverside, which is about an hour south of us boys up here in CR/Marion. For 9 years she has been one of the best band mates you could possibly ask for. After nine years of late night/early morning drives home braving this wonderful Iowa winter weather, she's finally had enough, and none of us gents can blame her that. So, instead of Nicole quitting the band after our last August date at Bobber's in 2026, we will "plan to be back" in late spring of 2027.
Lastly, and this is VERY IMPORTANT, without all of our great fans who go out of their way to share their love for Crazy D and Live Music, this probably would have been the end of the line for the band. In addition to Nicole, I (Larry) was very close to throwing in the towel last year before I had my hip surgery. All of the load ins and load outs and 4 hours standing on stage with a 9lb Les Paul around my neck were literally inflicting pain that would linger on into the week after every show. Luckily, with a successful surgery that's nearly a year behind me now, I'm in a much better place pain wise than I was just 6 months ago. BUT, knowing myself pretty well, I can tell you that without one of the best summers we've ever had, I could have seen myself just letting Crazy Delicious expire after 20 incredible years. And for those of you who don't know us very well, we all love each other very much and there is very much an incredible chemistry that exists within this configuration of the band. STILL, without our incredible fans to play to, what fun would that really be??? Answer: ABSOLUTELY NO FUN AT ALL!!!
In closing, we hope you will consider spending NYE with us one last time @ Wild Hogs Saloon & Eatery. NOW, Mother Nature...can we PLEASE have some nice weather for our last gig of 2025??? NO SNOW, ICE OR FREEZING TEMPS...PLEEEEEESE????
On behalf of the band, sending out Holiday Cheer and love to you all! Hopefully, in some small way you will all find this post as a little early Xmas present from Crazy D! ;-)
