It's said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

We are remembering when Suzy dressed as the great visionary artist Yayoi Kusama for Halloween. Kusama's experience-based avant-garde pop art left it's mark in countless collections-- famously on the landscape of public space sculpture gardens from Naoshima Island, Japan and Kensington, England, all the way to Pappajohn in Des Moines.

Most importantly, she made a mark on our understanding of "love forever" through her representations with polka dots.

Thinking of Kusama today and all of the fans of the inspiring artists we've lost this week.

🏆CONGRATS to Nancy Boddicker for winning the Purple "Best in Show" ribbon at the Iowa State Fair ! There were 2000 entries in the "Fabric & Threads" category and SHE WON TOP BILLING!

Nancy worked on this hand-designed one-of-a-kind piece to commemorate the 250th Anniversary of America for 10 months. 40-50 hours a week, nearly every day, she completed 537, 824 stitches in all.

We had the honor of framing her award winning entry; Suzy hand-painted the fillet between the cross-stitch and carefully selected linen mat. The judges’ notes complimented the "perfect framing job" & we agree.

Next up: a frame for the ribbon for Nancy to hang next to her masterpiece.
