I am drawn to recreate these beauties and capture their brilliance. Working off of photographs from my own garden as well as bouquets I curate from local floral shops, I aim to capture the blooms and color for
year round enjoyment. These creations are meant to lighten hearts and bring sunshine for days to come. The broad category of paint has always been my medium of choice. I have been drawn to representing florals in oil, acrylic, and plenty of watercolor compositions. I have produced paintings to be displayed in community spaces and created commissions for clients as requested. My lifelong passion has been communicating visual ideas, whether it be through the computer or paintbrush. I remember being told to sign my artwork as a child, and feeling that accomplishment of creating a masterpiece. Growing up in Keystone, Iowa; it’s hard to remember a time when I didn’t help my Mom in the garden. Planting, watering and harvesting in my own backyard grew my love for Midwest staples such as peonies, and rhubarb. I come from a creative family. My father is an amazing woodworker, and my mother is an accomplished seamstress. Like me, they both lucky enough to have the opportunity to work in their fields of talent! Translating the beauty found around me with watercolor, acrylic and oil paint - into colorful moments of Iowa life is a joyful experience.
